Definition

A tactical meeting is a recurring meeting where attendees share updates on operations, discuss potential areas of improvement and decide on next steps.

There are 6 rounds in a tactical meeting:

  1. the check-in round
  2. the checklist review
  3. the metrics review
  4. the project updates
  5. the processing of items on the agenda (Holacracy practitioners call these items "Tensions")
  6. the closing round

In order for the tactical meeting to be as efficient as it can be, it helps to appoint a Facilitator who ensures that you can get through all items in the allotted time.

Although the tactical meeting was developed in the Holacracy Constitution, it is a meeting format that is suitable for all types of organizations. You don't need to practice Holacracy to benefit from this type of meeting.
